Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959)

I've never applied the argument "so bad it's good" to any movie, nor will I to this one. It's just bad. Ten points added because the horrible, overexplaining and just plain annoying voice-over narration thankfully is dropped after twenty minutes or so.

Police Academy (1984)

Probably the best in the series. That doesn't say a whole lot.

Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996)

Used to love this as a kid, but now? Pretty fucking stupid. Too bad.

Cocoon (1985)

Ah, so Ron Howard made this. That makes sense.

Tokyo Drifter (1966)

The plot is all over the place and although there are some nice, stylized scenes, this didn't do it for me. Nice bar fight though.

The Right Stuff (1983)

Feels more than anything like a glossy commercial.

The Machinist (2004)

Unlike Bale in this movie, I had a hard time not sleeping through this.

Juno (2007)

Leah: Yo Yo Yiggady Yo.
Juno MacGuff: I'm at suicide risk.
Leah: Juno?
Juno MacGuff: No, it's Morgan Freeman. Do you have any bones that need collecting?
Leah: Only the one in my pants...
Juno MacGuff: I'm pregnant.
Leah: What? Honest to blog?

And so forth.. Morgan Freeman wasn't even in "The Bone Collector" btw.

Dead Right (1971)

I have never cared much for Dirty Harry's masculine, misogynistic and ultra-conservative universe. The film never problematizes the sociopathic behaviour and actions of the protagonist.

An Officer and a Gentleman (1982)

All I remember is that it left a sour taste when I rewatched it a couple of years ago.

Inglourious Basterds (2009)

Stylistically, we've seen it all before, all Tarantino does is copy himself here. And this time, the brutal violence doesn't work in the context of the movie. The dialogue is really bad as well. Only thing it has going for it is the fairly intense opening scene, and Waltz's performance. A dumb and superficial movie.

Home Alone (1990)

Great fun as a kid, not so much today.

Grindhouse: Double Feature (2007)

Death Proof is fucking boring. At least Planet Terror has the spark in the eye and tongue-in-cheek attitude that is necessary for this kind of braindead entertainment to work.

Public Enemies (2009)

The DV-look doesn't bother me, but the camerawork and the overall pace of the movie is way too restless for this to ever become interesting. It fails completely as a character study, and I found myself not caring at all about Dillinger or his love affair. It has some decent shoot-out scenes where the frantic camerawork adds to the tension, but that's all it has to offer. Zero substance, and Mann's style is not what this story was calling for.
